Young girl’s death in Border Patrol custody leaves questions unanswered

The Department of Homeland Security has opened an investigation into the death of a 7-year-old Guatemalan girl, Jackeline Caal, who reached the United States last week. She was apprehended with her father by Border Patrol agents in a group of more than 150 people at a remote area of the desert in New Mexico, renewing questions about the detention and treatment of migrants.
